The Wisdom of Honest Abe Lincoln

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.Common-looking people are the best in the world: that is the reason the lord makes so many of them.I believe it is an established maxim in morals that he who makes an assertion without knowing whether it is true or false, is guilty of falsehood; and the accidental truth of the assertion, does not justify or excuse him.It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues.Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. No man is good enough to govern another man without that other's consent.

Here's my favorite quote from Abraham Lincoln: "Fourscore and... seven minutes ago, we, your forefathers, were brought forth upon a most excellent adventure concieved by our new friends, Bill and Ted. These two great gentlemen are dedicated to a proposition which was true in my time, just as it's true today. Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON, DUDES!

Yoder,
I think you should blog again.

Gavin,
I think you should keep it up. I was getting worried when every time I'd check your blog, I saw the same picture of Elf.

Yod,
I think we just have to stay the course. If we cut and run, then the terrorists win.

Let freedom reign!

Blorge, I am going to start back up again soon. I finished a couple of papers today, so I think there should be one up in the near future.

That's good to hear. Let me know when you do.

To answer your question, I'd have to say that the war on Christmas is really strange because some Christians see it as having become secularized and commercialized and the left see it as a carry-over from Christian culture.

Both sides agree that something's wrong with the way we celebrate Christmas. I'd be careful about using the word war, given how loaded it is.
