Review of Star Wars : Episode III

By: Jonathan Grindstaff

worst starwars ever.

I almost fell asleep. They made Darth Vadar in to a total weenie. So basically they ruined everything. He used to be a 8 foot tall bad ass....Now, basically picture Darth Vadar crying and in the movie a tear comes out of his helmet....that how bad it is.It's so reminiscent of roboCop2 ...the worst of the roboCops. They try and give these bad asses emotions and it ALWAYS <explitive> up a movie. It was worse than episode I.

Jar-jar was a mistake right... but this film was like "Here let me show you how I have all the stuff to make a sweet movie .....and now I'm going to take a <explitive> on one". I hope Darth Vadar kills Gorge Lucas. It was so bad I would almost watch it again to make sure it was the worst movie ever. I think I was imagining things that weren't there to make it cooler so I could stay awake.

Wow. I actually thought it was a good movie. Bad dialog. Bad romance. But entertaining movie. I leave you with a quote from Roger Ebert about Episode 3 that sums up my viewpoint:

"Episode III" has more action per square minute, I'd guess, than any of the previous five movies, and it is spectacular.... To say that George Lucas cannot write a love scene is an understatement; greeting cards have expressed more passion.

George Lucas is a really bad writer and director. If it weren't for the compelling nature of the story he tells and the utterly facinating and (yes I'll say it because I'm a nerd) cool universe that it takes place in, nobody would have bothered.

Good story, bad storytelling.

Blorge to say that Lucas is a really bad writer and director is insane. Have you forgotten about how kick ass it was as a kid to play star wars and watch the original movies. How about Indiana Jones. Was he stupid for writing those? Episode three rocked in the action department. The only mistakes Lucas made was Jar Jar and hiring Hayden Christensen.

Kids don't notice how bad the dialogue is. Harrison Ford carried those movies by his sheer force of presence.

Again, the story is really good, it just isn't told very well.

I absolutely agree with Brandon. George Lucas has a brilliant imagination, but he's a sub-par writer and a mediocre director. Watch Episode II and Empire Strikes Back for great examples of some of the worst dialogue known to man. It might be a little more accurate to say that he's not a bad writer, he just writes bad dialogue (i.e., "I've been dying a little bit each day since you came back into my life." *groan*)
